Information about quarantine-free travel between New South Wales and New Zealand.

If you're in Australia

If you were at a location of interest in New South Wales, Victoria or Queensland, you cannot travel to New Zealand from anywhere in Australia within 14 days from when you were at the location of interest.

Airlines and border officials will be asking people to declare whether they have been at one of the locations of interest.

If you visited a location of interest at the stated times, follow the isolation and testing advice on the relevant government website.

If you're now in New Zealand

If you were at a location of interest in New South Wales, Victoria or Queensland at the times specified, you need to:

  • self-isolate at your home or accommodation, and
  • call Healthline on 0800 358 5453 for advice.

You will be asked to get a COVID-19 test and self-isolate in your home or accommodation for the time advised by Healthline.

If you are required to have a test or are awaiting a test result and are due to fly overseas, you must wait till you have received the negative test result before departing.
