From Victoria to New Zealand: Paused
During the travel pause, anyone who meets the eligibility criteria and is in the Greater Melbourne area can travel to New Zealand on a return green flight.
Who can fly to New Zealand
- If you were at a location of interest at the specified time in Victoria, New South Wales or Queensland, you cannot travel to New Zealand from anywhere in Australia until at least 14 days after you were at the location of interest.
- If you were in Victoria after 7:59pm (NZT) on 25 May, you can fly to New Zealand from another Australian state. You will need to carry evidence of a negative pre-departure test administered no more than 72 hours before departure.
- However, if you were in the Greater Melbourne area after 11:59pm (NZT) on 27 May, you can fly to New Zealand directly from Melbourne on return green flights. You must meet eligibility criteria, including a negative pre-departure test administered no more than 72 hours before departure.
If you're transiting through Melbourne on your journey to New Zealand, you will need a negative pre-departure test, and you may need to meet return green flight eligibility criteria.
