Hospitality venues at Green

Hospitality venues such as cafes, bars, restaurants and nightclubs, can open at Green with no restrictions if everyone has a My Vaccine Pass.

With My Vaccine Pass

Hospitality venues, such as cafes, bars, restaurants (excluding takeaway-only businesses) and nightclubs, can open at Green with no restrictions if they follow My Vaccine Pass requirements.

If a hospitality venue chooses to follow vaccine pass requirements, only people with a My Vaccine Pass are allowed to be there. This includes delivery drivers, and people who are picking up their own takeaway orders.

  • There are no limits on the number of people you can drink or dine with.
  • You do not have to be seated to be served.
  • Children under the age of 12 years and 3 months do not need to provide a My Vaccine Pass to enter places with a vaccination requirement.

Takeaway services

Food and beverage services that only offer takeaway, such as coffee carts and food trucks, should follow the rules for retail.

Businesses that offer food and drink on site, as well as a takeaway option for customers without My Vaccine Pass, will need to operate as a hospitality venue.

At these businesses, if you do not have My Vaccine Pass you must collect your takeaways in a contactless way, and must not go inside.

Without My Vaccine Pass

If a hospitality venue chooses not to follow My Vaccine Pass requirements they must follow these restrictions.

  • There can be up to 100 people based on 1-metre distancing, in a single defined space at the venue at any time.
  • They can be a mix of people with and without My Vaccine Pass.
  • The limit includes children, but not staff.
  • You will have to be seated and separated from other groups. This means you must remain seated at your table unless you are entering or leaving the venue, using the bathroom or paying for your meal.
  • Dance floors are closed.
