- confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19
- the number of people who have recovered
- how many people are and have been in hospital
- cases by district health board (DHB), and by age and gender.
A cluster is a group of 10 or more COVID-19 cases that are linked because the people were in the same place together.
COVID-19 modelling reports
The Ministry of Health has published a series of modelling reports which were commissioned to help understand the potential impact of COVID-19 in New Zealand. These reports show the importance of the Alert Level 4 lockdown and other government actions in slowing the spread of COVID-19.
Testing data in New Zealand
The Ministry of Health provides a daily update on a range of statistics for New Zealand including the number of tests completed each day and over the previous 7 days.
The Ministry of Health is also recording tests by region and by ethnicity within regions. This gives us an accurate picture of the spread of COVID-19 and how to respond in the best way. It also helps to keep track of who is being tested, including vulnerable communities or at-risk groups with underlying health conditions.
