Locations of interest
Locations of interest are places where someone with COVID-19 visited. If you visited a location of interest around the same time, you may be a casual contact. What you should do if you visited a location of interest depends on the location.
Use the NZ COVID Tracer app
Use the NZ COVID Tracer app to keep track of where you’ve been and who you’ve seen. The app keeps us 1 step ahead of the virus — the more we scan, the safer we’ll be.
If you do not use the app, use whatever method works for you, like the NZ COVID Tracer booklet. Encourage your family, whānau and friends to do the same.
Please wear a face covering
Please wear a face covering on public transport, including flights.
Wearing a face covering helps keep you and others safe. It helps stop droplets spreading when someone speaks, laughs, coughs or sneezes.
Practise good hygiene
These simple steps can slow the spread of the virus — protecting yourself and others.
Wash your hands
Washing your hands is one of the easiest ways to keep yourself and others safe. Wash often. Use soap. 20 seconds. Then dry. This kills the virus by bursting its protective bubble.
Cough or sneeze into your elbow
Coughing or sneezing into your elbow keeps the virus off your hands so you will not spread it to other people and make them sick too.
Regularly clean surfaces that get touched frequently.
