Alert Levels and updates
New Zealand has a 4-level COVID-19 Alert System. Each Alert Level tells us what measures we need to take.
Alert Level 2
At Alert Level 2 there is a low risk of community transmission. We need your support to protect New Zealand and eliminate COVID-19.
Alert Level 3
At Alert Level 3, there is medium risk of community transmission with active, but managed, clusters. Make sure you follow all the public health rules to protect yourself, your whānau and our communities.
Alert Level 4
At Alert Level 4, the virus is not contained and there is sustained and intensive community transmission. Make sure you follow all the public health rules to protect yourself, your whānau and our communities.
The COVID-19 Protection Framework
The Government has announced the next stage of the COVID-19 response plan to help vaccinated New Zealander have more freedom and live with less disruption.
