The current phase of our COVID-19 response

New Zealand’s COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic lights) has ended. With case numbers low, most COVID-19 rules were removed on 13 September 2022.

Independent Advisory Groups

To ensure our ongoing response to COVID-19 is informed by expert advice, the Minister for the COVID-19 Response set up 2 independent advisory groups. There is also a community panel to represent diverse views.

Proactive releases

The Government publicly releases documents relating to decisions about its response to COVID-19. These documents are made available to the public in keeping with the Official Information Act.
